‘Hate each other now’ – Fans have a lot to say after viral Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown clip
· Yahoo Sports
The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers preseason matchup was the first time former title-winning teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown met as opponents.
Tatum and Brown spent eight years building one of the best wing partnerships in the NBA, resulting in the team winning its 18th NBA title in 2024.

However, after two losing seasons and an embarrassing blown 3-1 series lead to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2026, the partnership was broken with Brown being traded to the same 76ers after an All-NBA season.
Fans think Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have a bad relationship since the Celtics-76ers trade
Tatum and Brown were on the court together for pre-game warmups before their preseason clash, with both stars completely ignoring the existence of the other instead of warmly greeting each other as would be expected for a star duo that won a title together.
“Glad it’s out front that they hate each other now,” said one fan.
“They really don’t rock with each other at all… This one hurts,” was the takeaway for another fan.
“Stop trying to create this fake narrative. They don’t hate each other lol,” said one fan, accusing others of making a molehill out of this moment.
“Tatum has always been jealous and fake towards JB. Hopefully, they meet in the playoffs, and JB sends him home,” said a fan blaming Tatum for the fallout.
“And maybe they spoke for 30 minutes in the back before the cameras started rolling… Just stop,” defended another fan.
Brown did not play in this clash, while Tatum scored 23 points on 9-for-19 shooting with five rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes of action.
The Celtics picked up a big 144-106 win while playing other core players, including new additions Paul George and Mitchell Robinson, alongside established stars like Derrick White and Payton Pritchard.
The 76ers rested Brown, LeBron James and Joel Embiid, leaning on Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe to carry the group of rotational players around them.
Speculation that the trade went through because Tatum wanted to be the true No. 1 option or any resentment over Brown winning the 2024 Finals MVP are misplaced.
The Celtics did not want to give Brown another max contract extension for whatever reason, and essentially handed the 76ers the key to signing LeBron James as a free agent.
