The Patriots had a near-perfect game against the Raiders, beating Las Vegas 45-17. Drake Maye had a breakout game. He may have finally put his turnover issues behind him.

Maye threw for 374 yards and had four touchdown passes. He also ran the ball in himself. It came after a three-touchdown performance against the Bills. It was a performance coach Mike Vrabel could be proud of.

"I felt like he was in control, gave him some time, and we always talk about when we have clean pockets, and his ability to transfer up into really good pockets, that we’re going to gain yards," Vrabel said after the game.

The Patriots started the year 1-2. The team has also lost various players to injury. However, Maye is now producing like the player who earned second in MVP voting last season.

Maye had a touchdown pass minutes into the game. He was also precise with his aim, connecting with short and long throws. Vrabel was impressed with Maye’s decision-making and how the offense improved on all fronts.

"Being able to recognize man or zone or where he wants to go with the football, and the timing of it... The players were able to stay focused on the next play and understand that the history of the last play or the history of last week doesn’t have any bearing on what their performance has to be on the next play," Vrabel said via The Boston Globe.

Despite that, Vrabel later stated that none of the Patriots’ success this week will matter when the team faces the Jets in Week 6.
