The Milwaukee Brewers are two wins away from the World Series. They have defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the 2026 National League Championship Series. It was a gusty performance from Pat Murphy’s team, and they should be proud of their efforts to this point.

However, they aren’t looking to celebrate just yet. The Dodgers are two-time defending World Series champions. They have one of the most stacked teams in recent baseball history. They are more than capable of coming back. Murphy is fully respecting the Dodgers, even with a two-game series lead.

“I respect the Dodgers a great deal. They are a great team and I’m not going to think about anything but the next game,” the Brewers manager said, via Dodger Nation.

The Brewers took Game 1 in a close fashion, winning 2-1. Jacob Misorowski was not his usual dominant self, but the bullpen picked him up and gave Milwaukee the 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 was a bit of a different affair. Milwaukee got four solid innings out of Logan Henderson in this contest. But the story was the offense coming through when it mattered most. William Contreras had two clutch hits, including a solo home run.

The Brewers went on to win 7-4 on Monday night. As Murphy alluded to, this series is not over yet. There has to be a certain level of respect given to the Dodgers despite the series advantage. Milwaukee has to remain focused on the next couple of games ahead.

Game 3 sees the series shift to Los Angeles for three games. The Dodgers and Brewers return to the diamond on October 14 for a very critical Game 3.
