Mount Olive's big hitters pave path to MCT volleyball title

Mount Olive had a score to settle in the Morris County Tournament volleyball final. The Marauders have only one loss on their record. And the team that blemished their perfect season – Randolph – was on the other side of the net.

Mount Olive wasted little time dispatching the defending champion Rams, 25-13, 25-11, 25-17, to claim the plaque. It is the Marauders' first MCT title since going back to back in 2016 and 2017.

Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Drucks finished with 16 kills and was named the MCT Most Valuable Player. Junior outside hitter Izabella Osoria added 10 kills, including four down the stretch of the decisive third game.

Drucks and Osoria also played a new role this season: setter, at least to each other. When Osoria was in the back row, part of her job was to get the ball up to Drucks outside – and the same in reverse.

Senior libero Ava Diaz also rallied the Marauders defensively.

"This has been my dream since freshman year," Osoria said. "Being able to accomplish it with such an amazing team, it fills my heart. I’m just so proud of this team, knowing how hard everybody worked and how much effort was put into this. It’s truly just amazing."
