Could UCLA football’s most recognizable alumni be leaving his current network? Rumors have swirled this week about Troy Aikman potentially leaving his broadcast position with ESPN following the conclusion of his contract at the end of this season.
During this week’s Monday Night Football broadcast of the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams, it was reported that there was a pregame argument between Aikman and longtime broadcast partner Joe Buck.

Aikman and Buck have been among the best football broadcasting crews in recent years but their days’ might be numbered with Joe Buck having already signed a long-term contract extension with ESPN while Aikman is set to become a free agent.
Aikman appeared on 96.7 Ticket and spoke about the situation with Buck.
“I think there’s probably a time and a place for all that to be discussed. I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know that it’s hard to figure out kind of what happened here,” Aikman said. “I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year, kind of see what happens. I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this year does hold, with the Super Bowl and all that, and where my next landing spot will be.”
