The midterm elections are rapidly approaching, and key figures of both the Democratic and Republican parties are hard on the campaign trail, especially at the top of the executive branch, where President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have been extremely active.

After delivering a speech in Ohio, Vance took a slight detour before returning to the campaign trail and paid a visit to his favorite NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals. Vance attended the Bengals practice on Wednesday before shaking hands with head coach Zac Taylor and touring the locker room.

After practice, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked about the Vice President’s attendance.

“Did not,” he said after being asked if he got to meet Vance after practice. “We did not. He came with everybody and left with swiftness and efficiency before the end of practice. So I didn’t get to.”

He was then asked what his reaction was to having the vice president attend practice.

“Yeah, a lot of people around. You know, that’s what, that’s what I love about what I do is it brings a lot of people together, and people want to take time out of their day to come and watch what we do, watch what I do, and watch all the work that I’ve put in to come and watch greatness.

“And that’s everybody in the locker room. That’s why we do what we do. And whether it’s on the TV, whether it’s in person, whether it’s on the practice field, you know, that’s what we do.

Although Burrow hasn’t come out as either left-wing or right-wing politically, his comments in the past tell quite a lot.

“The Black community needs our help,” he wrote during the George Floyd protests in 2020. “They have been unheard for far too long. Open your ears, listen, and speak. This isn’t politics. This is human rights.”

In 2022, he came out against the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision.

“I’m not pro-murdering babies,” he posted. “I’m pro-Becky who found at her 20-week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life-sustaining organs.”

“I’m pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later.”

“You can argue and say that I’m pro-choice all you want, but the truth is: I’m pro-life. Their lives. Women’s lives.”

As of October 21, 2026, Burrow’s primary focus is probably on Cincinnati’s upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens.
