Steph Curry on the Kristaps Porzingis unknown: “It’s a hard one for all reasons. Personally, first and foremost. Then us as a team…We always said availability was a big factor for our team. It’s no secret that (center) spot was an important one for us.” pic.twitter.com/tELcdBjvBh

In post-game comments, Curry addressed the media about the injury misfourune, specifically talking about Porzingis’s injury.
“It’s a hard one for all reasons: him personally, first and foremost, but also us as a team, knowing you have an idea of who you are coming into a season. We always said availability was a big factor for our team with the guys that we already had out. No secret that that spot was an important one for us, especially with his skill set.
Curry continued, “It’s hard to talk about it without keeping the humanity of it in mind, but it is a tough one to figure out for now, for the future. Again, we had a good look at what we were supposed to be as a team. We have to overcome that, obviously, but we’d love to have him here.”
The Warriors signed Porzingis to a $40 million contract extension that extended to two years this offseason, but he has dealt with a mysterious illness that has kept him out of the lineup. Many in the NBA community believe that a Porzingis trade is on the table heading into February’s trade deadline.
The Lakers beat the Warriors in their home opener, 127-105. Curry finished the game with 23 points and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes of action.
