Tiffany Stratton’s Near Cash-In On RAW Was a Recycled Version From 2024?

Tiffany Stratton came close to cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on the October 26 episode of Raw, but many fans felt like they had seen the moment before.

The main event saw Liv Morgan defend the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch. The match was originally set as a No. 1 contender’s match between Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer, but Adam Pearce announced that Vaquer was not medically cleared, and it became a title match instead.
Lynch had Morgan trapped in the Dis-arm-her when Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez interfered, and referee Eddie Orengo called for the disqualification. Lynch won the match, but Morgan kept the title because it ended by DQ.
The chaos continued after the bell. Rodriguez and Perez attacked Lynch, and Chelsea Green ran out to help her before Morgan turned her attention to Green. IYO SKY also joined the brawl, and Green eventually hit Morgan with the UnprettiHER.
That opened the door for Stratton, who ran to the ring with a referee, climbed to the top rope, and hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Morgan before handing over her briefcase. Before she could complete the cash-in, Dominik Mysterio pulled Morgan out of the ring to safety.

Fans were quick to compare the angle to Stratton’s failed cash-in attempt on Morgan in 2024. On the October 14, 2024 episode of Raw, Nia Jax hit Morgan with an Annihilator after a tag team match, and Stratton tried to cash in her contract on the Women’s World Champion. Mysterio pulled Morgan to safety then as well.
One fan account laid out the similarities between the two segments in a post on X that included a video of the segment.

In 2024, Stratton’s storyline friendship was with Jax, who was WWE Women’s Champion at the time. This time, it has been Green, who holds the WWE Women’s Championship and is set to face Morgan at Crown Jewel in a champion vs. champion match. In both cases, Stratton’s friend left the Women’s World Champion laid out just before the cash-in attempt.
Stratton held on to her first contract after the 2024 attempt and eventually cashed it in on Jax in January 2025 to win the WWE Women’s Championship. She won the briefcase again at Money in the Bank on October 10, becoming the second woman after Carmella to win the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match twice.
