PHILADELPHIA — Eagles cornerback Riq Woolen is aware of the trade rumors with the NFL trade deadline approaching in two weeks, but they don’t bother him.

“I mean, you hear, but nobody knows the truth,” Woolen told reporters on Wednesday about the trade rumors. “You guys on social media and whatever news outlet, y’all can say a million things, but y’all really wouldn’t know until you get a talk with the GM and you get a talk with your coach.”

Woolen’s name has been linked in trade articles and reports, including in ESPN’s top 25 trade candidates preview that was published Wednesday morning. ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler gave Woolen a 35% chance of getting traded.

After losing their fifth consecutive game on Monday, the Eagles could be open to trading select players for future draft picks.

Woolen, who is playing on a one-year deal, would likely leave Philadelphia in free agency this offseason, making him one of the team’s top trade assets. Philadelphia could receive a decent return for him before he leaves.

But Woolen doesn’t want to get traded.

“You can see me going to any team or you can hear anything about me going to a team, but to me, that doesn’t matter to me, just because I’m here every day working with these guys...,” Woolen said. “Me being in Philly, I work my butt off with these guys all offseason, and so I’m a ride with these guys throughout the season, no matter if we undefeated or we don’t win a game. I’ve worked my butt off with them. They worked hard as hell, too. So I’m going to just be where my feet at and let the chips fall where they may be, but I’m right here in Philly, and it’s a place I want to be.”

During his final year with the Seahawks last year, Woolen was a popular trade candidate, but Seattle never traded him. He finished out his last season with Seattle and won a Super Bowl. Then, he signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in March.

“Oh, yeah, most definitely,” Woolen said when asked whether his experience last year had helped him navigate this year’s trade deadline. “Just because it’s new to you as a player. I mean, no player knows their timeline on the team or where they’re going to be in this league. But whenever you do hear little things about trades and stuff like that, you can either let it get to you and worry about where I can go, because there’s people that have been on losing teams, and they probably wondering, ‘Oh, how can I go to be on this team or do this and that.’ And that’s not the way I roll. I gotta be where I’m at, and to get where I want to go, I have to go through the things, and that’s me being here with my team, me being a great player, me getting better every game and being someone they can rely on while I’m here.”
