The Gunners forward surpassed the mark of former Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan when he tapped home his 46th goal in the competition after 16 minutes at Anfield.
It was his third league strike of the campaign, taking his overall total for the north London club to 27, and sent the champions top of the table after City lost to Brighton on Saturday.
Havertz scored 19 Premier League goals during his spell with Chelsea from 2020 to 2023, a period during which he also netted a Champions League final winner.
Brighton’s Pascal Gross is the competition’s third most prolific German with 34, ahead of former Arsenal player Mesut Özil with 33.
Other notable Germans on the list include former Tottenham favourite Jürgen Klinsmann with 29 and Michael Ballack, a Chelsea title-winner, with 17.
Havertz’s Germany international team-mate Florian Wirtz, who hit the bar for Liverpool, has five goals to his name for the Reds.
