On Saturday, the second-year running back was downgraded to out for the game due to an illness. Even with Corey Kiner cutting into some of Henderson's snaps, the absence of a versatile offensive weapon like the former Ohio State standout is a loss for the Patriots.
This might have been one of the weeks when offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels would have gotten more creative with the play-calling and utilized Henderson more as a receiver. Along with Henderson, the Patriots also ruled out star receiver A.J. Brown. The team is also missing Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins, meaning they only have three healthy wideouts left on their main roster.
With Henderson sidelined, the team will likely turn to running back Lan Larison, who can serve as a change-of-pace running option while also lining up as an extra receiver.
The top two options for the Patriots are set in stone with Rhamondre Stevenson and Kiner, who has come on strong in recent weeks. Miami has been one of the worst teams in the NFL against play-action, but the Patriots will need to establish a ground game to make them bite.
And they'll have to do it without Henderson, their one true home run threat on the ground.
