The Denver Broncos have exceeded most expectations on their way to a 6-2 start and have a chance to enter the Bye Week with a win over the Carolina Panthers in what I would have called the ‘best case’ scenario of 7-2 if you had asked me when the schedule came out back in May. That they are here is a good time to recognize they are winning and that is all that matters.

The Panthers defense is incredibly bad and why they fired their defensive coordinator two weeks ago. That didn’t fix the issue as they gave up another 27 last week after giving up 43 the week before. This is a unit that Bo Nix should be able to find some openings to work with — unlike the top defenses the Broncos have mostly faced to start the season.

The line has Denver slight favorites here despite the Panthers being an under .500 team. This does feel like a ‘trap’ type game, so I really hope we don’t end up seeing the Broncos play down to their opponent and need yet another comeback to keep things in the win column. But that’s a nightmare for another day.
