New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh expressed clear excitement on Monday about facing the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, citing both the longstanding rivalry and his earlier experience coaching in Philadelphia.
Harbaugh said it was good to have the players back after the bye and to begin preparations for a divisional opponent he respects.

"Rival in the division, long-time rival. Was a part of this way back as an assistant coach in Philadelphia and now to be on the other side of it, playing the vaunted Giants against the vaunted Eagles, it's really exciting and we're looking forward to it," Harbaugh told reporters.
"A lot of respect for that team, that organization, everything about them. We understand, defending champs in the division, recent world champs, all those kinds of things. We're looking forward to our opportunity."
When asked about the Giants’ 13-game losing streak in Philadelphia dating to 2013, Harbaugh dismissed any notion that the current team inherits that history. He used an analogy about rejecting an unwanted burden.
"I'm trying to think of the analogy because inherit is an interesting word," Harbaugh said. "You're sitting there, you're sitting at one of those, I've only seen them on movies where they all go into the lawyer's office and they read the will, right? What would that be akin to, a 13-game losing streak that you inherit?"
He continued that the team has no interest in carrying past results into the upcoming game.
"Yeah, you can say like, no thanks, that's what I would probably say is like," Harbaugh said. "I'd say like, I'm not up for that, so I'm going to say no thanks to that. Yeah, I didn't know that, and I probably didn't need to know that. Yeah, we don't care, we don't care about that."
The focus remains on the opportunity in front of the current roster as the Giants prepare for the Eagles in a crucial NFC East showdown.
