Miami may be without its best playmaker for Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Max Olson, Miami star wide receiver Malachi Toney is dealing with an ankle injury, and his status for the game is “uncertain.” However, he’ll still do everything he can to play since it’s such a huge game.

Miami enters this game ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll and the College Football Playoff rankings, the latter of which debuted Tuesday. The Hurricanes are one of three unbeaten FBS teams going into November.

Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish are No. 4 in the AP Poll but No. 11 in the CFP rankings, and they have to win this game. It’s their last chance at a signature win this year since the rest of their schedule is a bit soft.

We’ll see if Toney plays on Saturday when the game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
