As a result, Alex Fitzpatrick is now exempt on the PGA Tour until the end of the 2028 season.
The 27-year-old from Sheffield, England, has taken full advantage of his new-found job security, so to speak.
Alex Fitzpatrick finished in a tie for ninth last week at the Cadillac Championship, and is now leading the Truist Championship heading into the final round.
It’s fair to say that he has his brother, Matt Fitzpatrick, to thank for the unbelievable opportunity he has on the PGA Tour right now.

It is fair to say that Matt Fitzpatrick has been the standout player on the PGA Tour this season, with three wins to his name already, especially considering the calibre of some of the players he has beaten.
Alex Fitzpatrick on receiving more support than Matt Fitzpatrick
Matt Fitzpatrick has had to deal with rowdy crowds on the PGA Tour this season, especially at The Players Championship and the RBC Heritage when he went head-to-head with Cam Young and Scottie Scheffle respectively.
However, Alex has received unwavering support at Quail Hollow during the Truist Championship this week.
And when speaking after firing a third-round 64 on Saturday, the younger of the Fitzpatrick brothers responded when asked whether he thinks the support he has received this week is due to his Wake Forest connections.

“There was some USA chants out there, again, like Matt said, it is what it is. America, it’s what you expect, and there is no bad thing about it.
“If they weren’t chanting for their country I would also be concerned.
“Yeah, there is a lot of Wake people out here, which was super cool. Definitely made me feel more at home than other places.“
Why Alex Fitzpatrick won’t be the fan favorite on Sunday at the Truist
Alex spent four years at Wake Forest and was on the same team as Cam Young during the Englishman’s Freshman year in the 2018/19 season.
He obviously has his fair share of support in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area as a result.
The 27-year-old will be a hugely popular winner at Quail Hollow on Sunday, if he does indeed manage to get over the line.
However, it’s fair to say that Cam Young will be the real fan favorite on Sunday at the Truist Championship, just like he was when he went head-to-head with Alex Fitzpatrick’s brother, Matt, at TPC Sawgrass in March.
American fans always support their own players, and that will be no different during the final round at Quail Hollow on Sunday.
As long as the fans support Young to the maximum on Sunday, without directing any vitriol towards Alex, nobody can have any complaints.
