After weeks of heated competition, fans might be having deja vu. That's because Texas and Texas Tech are back in the Women's College World Series finals for the second year in a row.
After being relegated to the loser's bracket early on in the WCWS, the defending champion Longhorns battled their way back into contention. Despite taking the initial loss to Tennessee to open their campaign in Oklahoma City, Texas defeated the Lady Vols in two straight games Monday to punch their ticket back to the championship.
Texas Tech has fought through this season towards redemption, and now has the perfect opportunity to avenge last year's loss in the championship series. NiJaree Canady and the Red Raiders completed a masterful upset of No. 1-seeded Alabama in order to get themselves back into the final for a second straight year.
