Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, showed up in superstar fashion, knocking out Canada’s Aiemann Zahabi in the second round tonight (Sun., June 14, 2026) at UFC Freedom 250 live on Paramount+ on the South Lawn in Washington, D.C., as UFC celebrated America’s 250th anniversary.

The first round consisted mostly of Zahabi circling away from O’Malley and throwing leg kicks, while “Suga” patiently picked him apart and used the Canadian as a punching bag.
Then, just like O’Malley predicted during UFC Freedom 250 fight week, the knockout came.
Four minutes into the second round, O’Malley cracked Zahabi with a straight left hand that sat him down. Zahabi quickly got back to his feet, only for O’Malley to land a picture-perfect right hand that slumped him for good.
Then, O’Malley saluted the crowd.

After the win, O’Malley called for a title fight with Petr Yan, whom he owns a controversial win over that initially earned him his first title shot.
Unfortunately for O’Malley, he will probably have to wait for Yan and Merab Dvalishvili to run it back for a third time before getting another crack at UFC gold.
O’Malley (20-3) is now riding a two-fight win streak since his rough two-fight skid, in which he lost to Dvalishvili twice. And tonight, he looked better than ever.
As for Zahabi (14-3), his impressive seven-fight win streak was snapped after picking up huge wins over Marlon Vera and Jose Aldo.
Worst of all, his title hopes may have flown away with that right hand.
