Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s dad: ‘I support England’
· The South African

While Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, has publicly voiced his support for England football, it doesn’t extend to rugby. The radio personality – the son of anti-Apartheid hero Barry Feinberg – is proudly backing the Springboks ahead of the clash against the English rivals this weekend.

South Africa will take on England at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday, 4 July, in their first test match this year.
The countries last played each other in a test match in late 2024.

On his X account, Nick Feinberg set the record straight on his rugby allegiance.
He tweeted: “Before anyone else asks, I was brought up in England, no rugby, football from childhood…I support England (football). Not in rugby 💚💛”

Not in rugby 💚💛
Sacha is currently out of play due to an ankle injury.
Nick, the son of anti-Apartheid hero Barry Feinberg, was born and raised in England while his father was in exile.
In the early 90s, he returned to South Africa under a repatriation programme, where he later met and married Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s mother, Makhosazana Mngomezulu.
When it comes to football, Nick is an ardent Chelsea fan. He recently took both his sons, reality TV star Nathan Mgomezulu and Springbok Sacha, on a boys weekend to watch his team play in the FA Cup final against Man City.

He is also backing England to win the FIFA World Cup.
England might go on and win it, but I still maintain, Tuchel isn't great, never enjoyed his football at Chelsea…Squeezed that result. We weren't good. Anyway on to the next round. Come on England pic.twitter.com/ifskF1nV73

PLAYING FOR SOUTH AFRICA, NOT ENGLAND
Speaking to Omni Sports in 2024, Nick Feinberg revealed that his son, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, turned down a chance to represent England.
He said of his son’s overseas opportunities: “Sacha has never had a desire to play for England. It’s not who he is or what he’s wanted. He’s always wanted the green and gold.
Nick revealed that a young Sacha – then at the famous rugby school Bishop’s College – was approached by scouts for Leicester, Saracens, and Northampton, who offered him deals to live and play abroad.
Nick added, “Sacha is a happy Capetonian. His hope was to play for the Stormers. The ultimate goal was always to stay here.”
Sacha joined the Stormers in 2022 at the age of 20. His contract has been extended to 2029.
