CHENANGO VALLEY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Just over a month ago, Justin Topa was released by the Minnesota Twins, and a week later, on May 30th, he was signed to a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. He was assigned to the Buffalo Bison on June 3rd, but was then released by the team on the 4th of July. It didn’t take long for him, however, to find a new team.

On Tuesday, Topa signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals.

While playing in Buffalo, he would pitch in eight games, posting a 3.38 ERA in eight innings pitched, and recording four strikeouts while only giving up four runs.

While competing for the Twins earlier this season, the former Chenango Valley Warrior would pitch in 23 games, with an ERA of 8.05, pitching 19 innings and striking out 12.
