Stefon Diggs Legal Fight Turns to 100-Page Message Dispute in Discovery

Stefon Diggs’ ongoing legal fight with Christopher Griffith has taken another procedural turn, with Griffith now claiming he has produced more than 100 pages of communications involving the wide receiver.

TMZ reported that newly filed court documents say Griffith turned over text messages and other communications between himself and Diggs, including iMessages and Instagram messages.
Griffith has accused Diggs of drugging and sexually assaulting him, allegations Diggs has denied.
Blocked Messages and Defamation: The Latest in the Diggs-Griffith Lawsuit
TMZ reported that Griffith claims he produced more than 100 pages of communications exchanged with Diggs. Diggs claimed Griffith had not turned over Instagram messages. TMZ reported that Griffith responded by saying Diggs also had access to the messages, while Diggs said he could not view older Instagram exchanges because Griffith had blocked him.
Griffith has accused Diggs of drugging and sexually assaulting him at Diggs’ Rockville, Maryland, home. TMZ reported that Griffith later countersued after Diggs filed a defamation lawsuit against him.
Diggs has denied Griffith’s allegations and claims Griffith fabricated the accusations. TMZ previously reported that Diggs’ lawsuit alleges Griffith intentionally spread false claims and damaged his reputation.
Griffith’s filings describe what he says happened and what evidence he says he has produced. Diggs’ side disputes those claims and is pursuing its own legal action.
The Court Previously Ordered Diggs to Provide More Detail
TMZ reported in June that a federal judge ordered Diggs to provide a fuller explanation of how he knew Griffith before the alleged incident.
According to that report, the judge found that describing Griffith only as an “acquaintance” was not enough. The court ordered Diggs to provide a “truthful, complete, and non-evasive response” within 14 days of the June 3 order.
The court also directed Diggs to give fuller answers about his interactions with Griffith in May 2023 and identify who was present at his Rockville residence during the relevant period.
