OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Broderick Washington will remain with the Baltimore Ravens after agreeing to a renegotiated contract that provides the organization with additional salary-cap flexibility.
Washington signed a one-year, $2 million deal that is fully guaranteed and includes $250,000 in available incentives, according to Spotrac. The revised agreement creates $2 million in cap space for Baltimore during the 2026 season.

Washington had been scheduled to enter the final year of a three-year, $15.75 million extension signed in August 2023. His previous deal included a $4.01 million base salary and carried a projected $5.86 million salary-cap charge before the renegotiation. The new arrangement gives Washington guaranteed financial security while reducing Baltimore’s immediate cost. It also allows the Ravens to retain an experienced defensive lineman rather than release him for cap relief.

The new deal frees up $2M of cap space for Baltimore this season.
Washington has spent his entire career with Baltimore since the Ravens selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. He has developed into a dependable rotational defender capable of playing multiple positions across the defensive front, but injuries limited his availability last season.
His role will be determined within a deep defensive line room that includes Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, Calais Campbell, Aeneas Peebles, John Jenkins and several younger players competing for snaps.
The $2 million in newly created space does not guarantee another transaction, but it gives general manager Eric DeCosta more room to operate during training camp. Baltimore can use the money to absorb a veteran signing, facilitate a trade, address an injury or preserve flexibility for in-season moves.
The Ravens have remained aggressive throughout the offseason, adding Trey Hendrickson and several offensive linemen while reshaping the roster around new head coach Jesse Minter.
Washington’s renegotiation is less prominent than those additions, but it serves an important purpose. Baltimore retained trusted depth, lowered its 2026 cap commitment and created additional room to continue improving the roster.
