On Friday, the Colts signed tight end JJ Galbreath and waived cornerback Jai'Onte McMillan as the corresponding move to make room on the roster.
Galbreath went undrafted in 2025 out of South Dakota. He spent last season on the Pittsburgh practice squad, but did not appear in a regular-season game.
During Galbreath's final two seasons in college, he was targeted 108 times, catching 66 of those passes, while averaging almost 15 yards per catch. He was quite effective at picking up yards after the catch, per PFF.
He would also score nine touchdowns, with 56% of his career snaps coming as a blocker. Galbreath has a fair amount of experience lining up in the slot.
This move by the Colts bolsters their tight end depth after losing Carson Towt to injury earlier in the week.
McMillan was a late addition to the offseason roster, signing with the Colts in early June with OTAs underway. He went undrafted this past April out of Minnesota.
