New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said he doesn't believe his team has enough depth to feel confident about what the roster looks like right now.

Of course, with the season not here yet, the Patriots have plenty of time to make another trade or two if they think they need to. However, the bigger issue for New England is that it hasn't drafted too well over the past few years. Specifically, before Mike Vrabel took over, the Patriots just didn’t do a good job.
The 2024 draft class is typically the one that everybody likes to focus on. Outside of Drake Maye, there haven't been any contributors, as the Patriots only have one player on their roster remaining from that class, and it's Marcellas Dial.
Dial, however, doesn't sound like a player who's going to make the team, according to the latest report.
“Before 2025, several years of poor drafts had left the Patriots without much depth. Only Marcus Jones remains from the 10-man draft class of 2022. Of the seven players picked in the first five rounds of the 2023 draft, only Christian Gonzalez remains. Drake Maye will likely be the only player from the 2024 class to make the roster this season,” Chad Graff wrote.
After dealing with an injury throughout the 2025 campaign, it's unfortunate that Dial hasn’t been able to prove himself yet.
There were moments as a rookie when he looked to be decent, playing in all 17 games. However, that injury in 2025 and a below-average training camp clearly haven't put him in a position to make the team as New England looks to get back to a Super Bowl.
