Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Danso is set to complete his move to Sunderland on a season-long loan according to Fabrizio Romano after the two clubs reached an agreement over the Austria international.

The 27-year-old joins Sunderland with an option to make the move permanent, bringing an end to his time at Tottenham after less than two years at the club. His medical is booked for today.

Danso’s departure was made possible by Tottenham’s agreement to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea, allowing Roberto De Zerbi to sanction the defender’s exit before the transfer deadline.

Danso has joined Sunderland (should he pass his medical) on loan for the 2026/27 campaign, with the Black Cats holding an option to sign him permanently at the end of the season for around £25 million.
