'Is She Dumb? Shame On You': Swara Bhasker SLAMMED For Calling Padmaavat Jauhar Scene 'Coward' & 'Problematic'- VIDEO
· Free Press Journal

Actress Swara Bhasker has reignited the Padmaavat controversy years after she wrote an open letter to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, criticising what she described as the glorification of jauhar in the film. The sequence appears towards the conclusion, after Alauddin Khilji’s forces defeat the Rajputs. The scene depicts Rani Padmavati and the women of Chittor choosing mass self-immolation rather than facing capture.

Bhasker criticised the sequence, arguing that its depiction could send a troubling message to rape survivors by suggesting that death is preferable to surviving sexual violence. She questioned whether 'rape is the end of a woman’s life' and described several aspects of the film as 'problematic.'

Social media users were quick to criticise Bhasker over her remarks, with some calling her a “complete idiot” and expressing disbelief at her comments.
“This lady is utterly shameless to the core. She needs to be isolated and put into an asylum,” one user wrote.
“Complete idiot,” another commented, while a third reacted, “Wow. This is unbelievable.”
Another user directly addressed Bhasker, writing, “Oh @ReallySwara, the dumb person you are.”
the question really is that what if that rape survivor after being raped once is kept in confinement and raped over and over by the same perpetrators with the law/Mughal rule being on the rapists' side.

What will the rape survivor or a captive feel about committing Jauhar then?
Who is giving this dumb woman platform to talk , anytime she opens her mouth it’s just crap. Is she really comparing rape victims to this scene ?? Waste of time , she is so irrelevant that she has to become a leftist to survive.

Jauhar could have been done in water too, yet fire was chosen over capture. Why? Because women feared enslavement, rape—and even sexual violation of their bodies after death. You are not dealing with humans.

Swara has never been an intellectual, and it shows. First of all, Jauhar was not done by rape survivors. It was done by free women who did not want to live the life of a sex slave. Free people have chosen liberty and death over slavery many times in history.

What’s problematic is her inability to understand the concept of self dignity. Jouhar is the ultimate symbol of bravery.
