LSU QB Sam Leavitt listed as doubtful for Ole Miss game

BATON ROUGE — On the surface, LSU football has seemingly gotten through the fist two weeks of the 2026 college football season healthy.
But that's not the case on the release of the team's first injury report of the season Wednesday night ahead of its SEC opener at Ole Miss Saturday night (6:30 p.m. CT, ABC). LSU coach Lane Kiffin returns to Oxford, Mississippi to take on his former team in the Rebels as ESPN's College Gameday will be on site for its second LSU games in the first three weeks of the season.

Junior quarterback Sam Leavitt is listed as doubtful for the Tigers on Saturday. The report does not list what type of injury Leavitt has as well as the others are contending with as of Wednesday.
LSU may be thin at linebacker for Saturday's game as well as senior starting linebacker TJ Dottery and reserve sophomore Tylen Singleton carry a questionable designation into the weekend.
Sophomore wide receiver Phillip Wright and reserves Jaiden Braker and running back Raycine Guillory Jr. have been ruled out for the Ole Miss game while tight end Trey'Dez Green, senior linebacker Whit Weeks, fellow linebacker Davhon Keys and starting offensive guard Aliou Bah are listed as probable play.
This is the first injury report of 2026 for LSU as SEC teams aren't mandated to release injury information for nonconference games.
