Three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald is set to make his return for the LA Rams in their Monday night game against the NY Giants.

After retiring from the NFL in 2024, Donald decided to return to the game during this offseason for another run at the Super Bowl, as the Rams acquired Myles Garrett.
Initially it only seemed like chatter around the league, but when coach Sean McVay confirmed it was something the team were considering, the reports started to look serious.
Then on August 30, it was confirmed that Donald would be playing for the Rams this season. He sat out for the team’s opening game against the San Francisco 49ers.
However, with Garrett out injured, it was expected that Donald would make his return for the Week 2 game against the Giants.
The player spoke to the media and said he would have another practice, but confirmed he planned to play against the Giants.
Fans react to Donald return
With Garrett out, Donald arguably becomes one of the key players for the Rams.
However, he has been out of the game for two years, and that could be something that the Giants would also be aware of.
On the news being confirmed, fans raised the point on how the Giants could use the lack of playing time Donald has had to their advantage.
“Run at him all night,” said one fan. While another added, “Harbaugh is gonna run that ball all game long with those Goliaths on the O line. Aaron will probably be ready to retire again after this game. We’ll find out how much game shape he’s really in.”
Facing the Giants offense on his first game back could be a bit of a tougher test than Donald would have expected, but some fans are hopeful the player will get the job done.
“Playing against the giants? might as well be a retirement party for their O-line. Donald’s still the biggest nightmare to blockers out there,” said one X user.
Another stated, “Got DAYUMN, he still a f****** unit bro.”
And a fan also remarked, “AARON DONALD IS BACK! The beast is back on the field Monday night just got a whole lot more exciting!”
After a tough loss to the 49ers in the opening game, the Rams need a win in this matchup. With Donald back, they will be hoping their defense performs a lot better and manages to contain the danger of Jaxson Dart.
