Texas A&M baseball receives commitment from speedy OF out of Texas

Texas A&M baseball stays hot on the recruiting trail, adding another in-state prospect to its 2028 class. Lamar High School outfielder Kyle Behan announced his commitment to the Aggies, giving head coach Michael Earley another athletic player with significant upside.

Behan is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect from Houston who plays travel baseball for Wildcatters National 2028. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed, while Perfect Game lists Behan as an outfielder, first baseman and second baseman.

His speed is one of the strongest parts of his game. Behan recorded a 6.62-second 60-yard dash during a Perfect Game event in June, placing him in the 98th percentile among recorded players in the 2028 class. He also posted a 1.55-second 10-yard split and reached 89 mph on his outfield throws.

At the plate, Behan has shown present bat speed, good barrel control and the ability to produce line-drive contact. Perfect Game also noted his pull-side lift and sound offensive approach, giving him a strong foundation as he continues adding strength. His athleticism and experience at multiple positions should give the Aggies several options when determining where he fits best.

The commitment also adds another chapter to the rivalry between Texas A&M and Texas. Behan’s older brother, Lawson Behan, is a freshman infielder for the Longhorns after also attending Lamar High School.

Behan still has two high school seasons remaining before he is scheduled to arrive in College Station. His combination of speed, defensive flexibility and left-handed hitting ability makes him another intriguing addition to Texas A&M’s developing 2028 recruiting class.
