Charlotte Hornets returning to Charleston for training camp

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charlotte Hornets are returning to Charleston for training camp for the second straight season.
The NBA team announced Monday that it will hold its 2026-27 training camp at The Citadel, with practices scheduled at McAlister Field House from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2.

The Hornets last held training camp in Charleston ahead of the 2025-26 season, marking the franchise's return to the Lowcountry. The team concluded that stay with a preseason game at the North Charleston Coliseum.
It is not yet clear whether the Hornets will play another preseason exhibition game in the Charleston area after this year's training camp. The team did not announce any additional local events in Monday's training camp announcement.
The Citadel's McAlister Field House will serve as the team's practice home during the four-day camp as players prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
