The reigning Athlete of the Week is Delta boys tennis player Charlie Vannatter. Vannatter went 3-0 at No. 2 singles and won 36 games while dropping just eight against West Lafayette, Peru and Kokomo at the Kokomo Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12. He also won two matches, 6-0, 6-0, earlier in the week against New Castle on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and against Lapel on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Vannatter received 2,423 out of 2,728 votes (88.9%).
This week's poll brings us 10 more nominees who had standout performances during the week of Sept. 14-19. To submit nominees for future polls, please email names and any notable statistics or accomplishments to [email protected] by Sunday after their event(s) for the week.

Here's a quick look at this week's nominees:
- Gavin Redick, Yorktown boys soccer: Redick scored two goals within a minute-and-a-half span during overtime to lift Yorktown to a 4-1 victory over Delta on Monday, Sept. 14, marking the Tigers' first boys soccer win over their archrival since 2021.
- Toby Gruver, Muncie Central boys soccer: Gruver scored the lone goal in Muncie Central's 1-0 win over Anderson on Tuesday, Sept. 15, clinching the team's first North Central Conference title since 1995. He also scored two goals and assisted on another in the Bearcats' 3-1 win over Hamilton Heights on Thursday, Sept. 17.
- Da'Khia Elkins, Blackford girls soccer: Elkins scored a hat trick in Blackford's 10-0 win over Alexandria-Monroe on Tuesday, Sept. 15, then scored two more goals in a 4-0 win over Wabash on Thursday, Sept. 17.
- Molly Webber, Delta girls golf: Webber won second low medalist with a 3-over-par 75 at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19. She led Delta to a school-record team score of 323, good for a second-place finish and regional qualification.
- Alysse Taylor, Yorktown girls golf: Taylor tied for third low medalist with a 5-over-par and career-best 18-hole score of 77 at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19. She led Yorktown to a team score of 309, good for a second-straight sectional championship and regional qualification.
- Lucy Huston, Monroe Central girls golf: Huston tied for third low medalist with a 5-over-par 77 at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19. She led Monroe Central to a team score of 331, good for a second-straight year of regional qualification.
- Lexi Taylor, Wapahani girls golf: Taylor qualified for a regional as an individual with a score of 86 at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19.
- Addison Huffman, Wes-Del girls golf: Huffman qualified for a regional as an individual with a score of 86 at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19.
- Alexa Ridenour, Jay County girls golf: Ridenour qualified for a regional as an individual with a score of 89 and beat teammate Bailey Towell in a playoff for the regional spot at Crestview Golf Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Saturday, Sept. 19.
- Lillian Scott, New Castle girls golf: Scott shot an 88 at Liberty Country Club in an IHSAA girls golf sectional on Friday, Sept. 18, to lead New Castle to its first team regional qualification since 2001.
