‘The Atlanta Braves reinstated right-hander Robert Suarez from the 60-day injured list on Tuesday, officially returning him to the active roster ahead of the postseason.

Suarez completed his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett over the weekend and is now ready to contribute out of the big-league bullpen. Right-hander Owen Murphy was optioned back to Gwinnett in a corresponding move.

Suarez has not appeared in a game since going down in June with right elbow inflammation, but he was nearly untouchable before the injury.
Across 31 appearances he posted a 0.56 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP and four saves, making him one of the more dominant relievers in the National League during that stretch.
Suarez made a scoreless rehab appearance for Gwinnett on September 20, allowing one hit and striking out one, before the Braves felt comfortable enough to activate him.
His return gives manager Walt Weiss another proven high-leverage arm to pair with closer Raisel Iglesias heading into October. Suarez signed a three-year, $45 million deal last December and is a two-time All-Star with a fastball that consistently sits in the upper 90s.
Having him available alongside Iglesias and Dylan Lee gives the Braves a legitimate late-inning trio capable of holding leads in a short postseason series.
Murphy appeared in four innings for Atlanta this season after making his big-league debut earlier in the year. The 22-year-old owned a 5.00 ERA with eight strikeouts.
His return to Gwinnett gives him an opportunity to continue developing while remaining organizational depth if the Braves need to make any additional moves before October.
