The Toronto Raptors may not be finished making major moves after bringing Kawhi Leonard back to the franchise.

With training camp opening next week, Raptors general manager Bobby Webster indicated Thursday that Toronto still has enough draft capital to make another aggressive move as it enters the 2026-27 season with renewed championship aspirations.

“If we want to go for it we can still go for it … this was a bit of a swing, but there’s definitely more meat left of the bone,” Webster said, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange.

Webster pointed to Toronto’s ability to trade first-round picks in each of the next four drafts, potentially giving the Raptors additional ammunition if another significant opportunity emerges.

Toronto already made its biggest swing by reacquiring Leonard in a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Raptors sent Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, a first-round pick swap and two second-round selections to Los Angeles.

Leonard then agreed Tuesday to a two-year, $115 million extension with Toronto that includes a player option for the 2028-29 season.

“He didn’t want this to be a short-term thing … hopefully that’s what people took away from the extension … we want to have a window here, whether it’s two, three (years) or beyond that,” Webster said.

Leonard’s arrival has also changed how Webster views Toronto’s ceiling entering the season.

“Last year it was ‘can we compete every night’ this year ‘can we win every night?’” Webster said. “That’s how I view this group …now there is the belief that they’ll win.”

Leonard’s health will remain a significant factor in Toronto’s pursuit of another championship. However, Webster pointed to the 35-year-old coming off a healthy campaign as a positive sign.

“As we move forward we’ll have a better sense, but the biggest things is he’s coming off a healthy season,” Webster said.

Webster also credited his relationship with the Clippers’ front office for helping Toronto complete the trade.

“My relationship with the Clippers GM in this respect was huge … those conversations with the Clippers felt honest and secure,” Webster said.

Beyond Leonard’s production, Webster expects the two-time Finals MVP to have an impact on Toronto’s younger players through his preparation.

“He has a really, really high level of work ethic and excellence … you can see that from afar … those type of habits are what will rub off the most,” Webster said.

The Raptors have already committed significant resources to their reunion with Leonard. Webster’s comments suggest the organization remains willing to push even more chips toward the middle if the right opportunity emerges.
