Why Alabama football nationally ranked offense is 'only going to get better'

When Alabama football quarterback Keelon Russell was asked about the state of the Crimson Tide offense, his answer was quick.

"I got to get better," Russell said.
There's "knick knacks to fix," he sad. It's a group he's confident that will continue to build and continue to grow.
"Eventually, it's going to come," Russell said. "It's only going to get better each and every week."
This Alabama offense may be growing. But it's an Alabama offense that has already made a statement.
Through four games against FBS opponents, Alabama has not scored less than 45 points. It's an offense that has not generated less than 343 yards of offense in a game, or fewer than 20 first downs.
This offense that Russell said Alabama is growing into, that is getting better is the third best scoring offense in the SEC behind Georgia and Florida and is a top-10 scoring unit nationally, especially after a 49-18 win against South Carolina.
It's an offense Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer is extremely confident in.
"We're going to make those plays," DeBoer said. "Just got to give yourself another chance, so not trying to do too much. He's got the guys around him that can go make plays, so just trusting them, trusting himself."
Over the course of four games, DeBoer said Russell has grown exponentially. Russell protects himself, sliding instead of generating contact. He stays calm when plays break down and keeps plays alive with the mindset of living to see another down.
Russell is the focal point of the Alabama offensive identity Ryan Coleman-Williams described, one that is ball dominant, selfless and explosive.
In Russell, DeBoer sees a leader, one who is growing, but one who create explosiveness by himself.
"He's got the time," DeBoer said. "He's throwing more on rhythm. Not as late as he was earlier in the season. Again, that's a trust factor, but then he's putting the ball with great ball placement and accuracy to where guys can catch it on he run and go make plays."
