IOWA CITY— The Iowa football team came up short in a 31-14 loss to Ohio State on Oct. 3.
The Hawkeyes hung with the Buckeyes early, trailing 10-6 after the first quarter and 17-6 at halftime. Ohio State then scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half to go up 31-6. Jeremy Hecklinski led Iowa on a TD drive in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit.

Let's start with a few positives. Hecklinski entered the game in the fourth quarter, completed all five of the passes he attempted for 67 yards to set up the Hawkeyes' only touchdown of the day on his first drive under center. He also completed the 2-point conversion pass to Reece Vander Zee.
4: Sacks for the Iowa defense
The Hawkeye defense swarmed Ohio State QB Julian Sayin four times, resulting in a loss of 29 yards.
39: Rushing yards for Iowa
Ohio State held Iowa to 1.9 yards per carry on Saturday. Kamari Moulton led the Hawkeyes with 27 yards on 11 carries. LJ Phillips had four carries for 16 yards.

Iowa had no answer for the Buckeyes' star wide receiver. He caught 11 passes for an 18.7-yard average and two touchdowns.
