Kenyon Sadiq Fantasy Week 4 Start or Sit: The Waiver Add Worth Committing To

New York heads to Chicago on Sunday with Sadiq 10th among tight ends in PFN’s Week 4 rankings, and he was the name most managers had circled atop the waiver wire this week. Against the Lions he had more catches (seven) than he had targets (six) through the first two weeks, and he walks into a good matchup with banged-up receivers around him. He’s not a must-start in a Geno Smith-led offense, but the size and speed profile fits the run of productive rookie tight ends from Kyle Pitts to Brock Bowers. If you landed on him as a streamer, hop off the merry-go-round and treat him like he has staying power.

Should You Start or Sit Kenyon Sadiq in Week 4?

The name that most had circled atop their waiver wire wish list this week, Sadiq has an NFL-ready skill set and an opportunity to thrive.

Or to at least get the opportunity to thrive.

From Kyle Pitts to Brock Bowers, we’ve had a surge of productive rookie TEs over the past handful of years, a trend that suggests that pass-catching versions in college are as prepared for the pro game as ever.

On the whole, I buy that trend, and with the size/speed profile that Sadiq owns, he could well be the player to keep that pattern going. That’s not to say that he is a must-start right now (he might never be; this is still a Geno Smith-led offense), but he’s in that conversation, in a good matchup, with banged-up receivers around him.

Last week against the Lions, he had more catches (seven) than he had targets (six) through the first two weeks. If you landed on the rookie as a streaming TE option prior to last week, I think you can hop off the merry-go-round for now. Treat Sadiq as if he has staying power. Take him out to a nice dinner. Maybe surprise him with flowers or a box of chocolate.
