OXFORD — Ole Miss football running back Kewan Lacy is set to return to the field in Week 6 vs Vanderbilt.
Ole Miss coach Pete Golding said Lacy took the week off after missing the Rebels' loss to Florida and returned to practice on Oct. 4.

"Obviously (Lacy) rested all last week," Golding said Oct. 5. "Did rehab. Was good for that for a solid week, not practicing. Practiced last night, came back. Did individual, did some team sessions. A lot of that was non-contact last week. Fully anticipate having him this week."
After not playing in Week 5, No. 11 Ole Miss (3-1, 1-1 SEC) will travel to Vanderbilt (3-2, 0-2) on Oct. 10 (2:30 p.m., ESPN)
Golding said the Rebels are still likely to use multiple running backs against Vanderbilt as Lacy works his way back.
"That's going to be a constant rotation based on how (Lacy) is, and how healthy he is," Golding said. "But even coming back, he's not going to take the toll of 40 or 50 snaps, and all those things."
Lacy, the Rebels' star running back, has not played since he suffered a left shoulder injury in Week 3 against LSU. It's the same shoulder he had offseason surgery on. He has also been playing through a thigh bruise he suffered in Week 1.
Kewan Lacy stats
Lacy is one of the most dynamic offensive players in the sport. He rushed for 1,567 yards and a program-record 24 touchdowns in 2025. Ole Miss promoted him as a Heisman Trophy candidate for 2026 alongside quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
In the three games he's played this season, Lacy has rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns. He also has seven catches for 16 yards.
Ole Miss football backup running backs
Two Ole Miss running backs have emerged in Lacy's absence.
LSU transfer JT Lindsey has the second-most carries of any running back behind Lacy. He has 23 rushes for 83 yards.
Michigan State transfer Makhi Frazier has 17 rushes for 82 yards.
