After months of negotiations, Jalen Duren finally agreed to a five-year, $200 million contract with the Detroit Pistons. Despite being a rival on the court, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green didn’t hesitate to show his support for Duren getting paid what he believes he deserves.

On the latest episode of his “Draymond Green Show,” the four-time NBA champion expressed his happiness over Duren finally securing his massive payday and putting an end to the lengthy contract saga.

“It is officially over. The Pistons and Jalen Duren have agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract to return to the Detroit Pistons. There’s no options, there’s no bonuses included in the deal,” Green said.

“Number one, congrats to the young fella, Jalen Duren, getting his bag, putting himself in a position to have him and his family set for the rest of his life. Always love seeing guys get paid,” Green added.

The fully guaranteed deal will make Duren one of the top 10 centers in terms of annual salary.

There are plenty of reasons why Detroit was willing to commit $200 million to Duren. The 22-year-old center enjoyed the best season of his young career in 2025-26, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

However, after a disappointing postseason performance, Detroit’s offer came in significantly lower for Duren, as he was eligible for a five-year, $287 million max-salary deal. Still, after months of back-and-forth negotiations, both sides finally reached an agreement that will lengthen their partnership and keep Duren in Detroit for the foreseeable future.

Green himself also got an extension this offseason after signing a one-year, $27.7 million deal through the 2026-27 season. Though Green’s new contract is only for one season, it also gives Golden State significant flexibility going forward while allowing the veteran forward to remain with the franchise where he has spent his entire NBA career.

However, for now, both Green and Duren can start looking ahead after putting their respective contract situations behind them before the next season.
