The NFC East is wide open through seven weeks in the season. That will be music to the Cowboys and Eagles' ears, both of whom have endured trying campaigns thus far — albeit for different reasons.
Both sides enter their "Monday Night Football" clash with matching 2-4 records. Dallas' offense has looked lackluster in recent weeks, combining to score just 29 points after amassing at least 30 in three of its first four contests. Philadelphia hasn't fared much better — an injury-laden campaign has zapped the side of its attacking and defensive flair.
Still, there is plenty of time left in the year. The Eagles look unlikely to contend for a postseason berth at present, especially after Jalen Hurts was controversially ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a pulmonary embolism. And yet, a victory would leave Philly in position to potentially make a run towards a wild-card berth.

Pre-game
7:35 p.m.: Conventional wisdom would suggest the Cowboys have the advantage due to Jalen Hurts' absence. Dallas owner Jerry Jones noted in an appearance on the "Monday Night Football" pregame show that his team's latest face-off with a backup confirms that there is no guarantee that Dallas will triumph.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to @PatMcAfeeShow and @JasonKelce about facing a backup quarterback tonight on Monday Night Football: “The last time we played a team that had a backup quarterback we got our ass kicked.”

7:10 p.m.: Players are starting to stream onto the field for walkthroughs. Barkley doesn't look too impeded by his hamstring problem, although we'll have to wait to see what he looks like once he puts on pads.

6:50 p.m.: Good news for Eagles fans (and fantasy owners): Saquon Barkley is active for tonight's game. Seems like he is more or less healed from his hamstring trouble, although one would have to imagine Philadelphia will take a somewhat cautious approach to reintroducing him back into its setup.

6:30 p.m.: Both the Cowboys and the Eagles enter tonight's game with matching 2-4 records. Tonight's matchup represents something of a grudge match for the sides, both of whom will be feeling the pressure should they fail to collect a winning result.
