5 Baltimore Ravens QB Solutions After Lamar Jackson’s Thumb Injury
· Yahoo Sports
The Baltimore Ravens’ season took a dramatic turn for the worse in Sunday’s 36-10 loss. Not only did the Ravens fall to 4-4, but their third consecutive loss now places Baltimore in fourth place in the AFC North. Yet, the worst part was seeing Lamar Jackson suffer a thumb injury that will require surgery, sending the 29-year-old quarterback to injured reserve. It’s possible his season is over after making just five starts, the fewest of his nine-year NFL career.
It’s possible the Ravens will turn the keys over to 28-year-old backup Tyler Huntley for the rest of the way, but even he may not be available after suffering a toe injury that forced him out of action in Sunday’s loss too. That leaves undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano as the only healthy quarterback left in the Ravens’ organization. In other words, the Ravens may not have a choice but to add another signal-caller in the next few days.

With Ravens QB rumors swirling, it’s time to evaluate who the team may actually trade for ahead of the NFL’s Nov. 10 deadline.

Spencer Rattler

Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn ImagesWill Spencer Rattler save the Ravens’ season? Probably not. But he could help ignite a passing offense that may not have a better choice. Plus, with Jackson’s immediate future in question while also dealing with frequent injuries, perhaps it’s time the Ravens take a chance on a backup who has the potential to be something more. Here it’s gambling with the 26-year-old Rattler who completed a respectable 67.7% of his passes in eight starts (nine games) last season. He finished the season with 1,586 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions, but again, there could be some untapped potential here, and he’s only under contract through 2027.
Tua Tagovailoa

Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn ImagesChances are, Tua Tagovailoa isn’t the solution the Ravens are looking for. Yet, there was a time when the 28-year-old was a Pro Bowler, once leading the NFL in passing yards and topping the league in completion rate another year. As someone who’s shown he has a high ceiling and on a one-year, $1.2 million contract, Tagovailoa is exactly the type of player the Ravens should be willing to take a chance on, and he likely wouldn’t cost anything more than a fifth-round pick, at best.

Jacoby Brissett
Nov 1, 2026; Arlington, Texas, USA; Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett (7) walks off the field after the game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn ImagesBenched and replaced by Gardner Minshew III in Sunday’s Cardinals win, it’s possible Arizona would be willing to trade Jacoby Brissett, an 11-year-vet. After having some contractual issues leading up to the season, the Cardinals’ front office may be eager to move on from the 33-year-old who likely doesn’t have a future in Arizona past this season. With Minshew plus third-round rookie Carson Beck on the roster, the Cardinals can afford to deal Brissett, but again, is he the solution? If the Ravens want someone who will protect the football yet is still capable of generating first downs through the air, Brissett could be a wise pickup for a low price.

Joe Flacco
Oct 25, 2026; Baltimore, Maryland, USA; Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco (16) warms up prior to the game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jamie Sabau-Imagn ImagesThe Ravens would surely welcome a reunion with their former Super Bowl-winning QB. The problem is, Joe Flacco is Joe Burrow’s main backup on the division rival Cincinnati Bengals. While the Cleveland Browns were willing to let Flacco go start for the Bengals last season after Burrow went down with an injury, Cincinnati’s front office may not be as nice. Especially considering the Bengals likely don’t have any confidence in Sean Clifford or Josh Johnson, both of whom are on the practice squad.

Tyson Bagent
Oct 11, 2026; Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA; Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent (17) looks to pass the ball against the Green Bay Packers during the second quarter at Lambeau Field. Mandatory Credit: Mike Dinovo-Imagn ImagesWhile he’s not the first name that comes to mind, there is no player who is more equipped to take over the Ravens’ offense than Tyson Bagent. The 26-year-old Chicago Bears backup was learning from Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle last season in the Windy City. Plus, Bagent has above-average mobility too, allowing the Ravens to keep many of their play designs in place. Bagent has performed well when asked to step in, but he’s never had the keys to an offense for more than four starts, which came back in his rookie season. The Bears may not be willing to give him up, but Case Keenum showed he could operate Ben Johnson’s offense effectively, so a strong enough offer could pry Bagent out of Chicago and into Baltimore’s starting lineup.
