A&M (4-4, 1-4 SEC) travels to play the Gamecocks, who have won three straight and could conceivably make the College Football Playoff. South Carolina (5-3, 3-3) would need to beat No. 2 Georgia, as well as Arkansas and Clemson, to make the CFP, but it could concievably happen with the Gamecocks already No. 21 in the first CFP rankings.
A win against the Aggies would likely send them up the poll a bit before a winnable game against Arkansas. A loss would put an end to and playoff hope and put a small feather in the cap of a beleaguered 2026 Aggies team.

Since joining the SEC in 2012, A&M is 10-2 against South Carolina. The Aggies and Gamecocks have met each of the past 12 seasons.After losing three straight by 24 or more to the Aggies, South Carolina has two wins in the past four meetings.
Leading the Gamecocks, once again, this year is quarterback LaNorris Sellers. The 6-foo-3, 238-pound right-hander has passed for 1,849 yards, 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 62.6% of his passes. He's also the team's leading rusher at 603 yards and six thouchdowns.
The Aggies are led on offense by junior quarterback Marcel Reed, who's completed 56.8% of his passes for 1,390 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. He's also a factor in a run game that has five players with more than 25 carries this season.

Cedric Golden, Austin American-Statesman: I have no real faith in the Aggies, who have gone downhill fast and are in danger of missing bowl season for the first time since finishing 5-7 in 2022. South Carolina is playing with great spirit. The Gamecocks have their first three-game winning streak under coach Shane Beamer and their best stretch since winning six straight in 2024. The Aggies have no juice right now. Give me the Gamecocks, 31-20.
Kirk Bohls, Houston Chronicle: I can see the Gamecocks relaxing a bit after their big winning streak, but they'll likely remember blowing their 30-3 lead in College Station last year. I do think the Aggies will give a great competitive effort as they try to salvage the season and at least get closer to bowl eligibility. I see a 32-28 South Carolina win.
CBS: All nine writers are taking Alabama, with six predicting the Tide will cover the two-touchdown spread.
