Vulcans volleyball wins pair of matches

The Hawaii Hilo women’s volleyball team won both its matches Saturday in the Hawaii Challenge at McCabe Gym.
In the first match, Chase Koepke had 16 kills and Alohi Garcia added 14 as Hawaii Hilo defeated Saint Martin’s 25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 25-12.

Logan Blutreich had 12 kills and ‘Anolani Santos posted 41 assists for the Vulcans (7-3). Hilo lost its tournament opener, then won its final three matches.
Olivia Bassett finished with 14 kills and Sophie Fast posted 31 assists for the Saints (3-4).
In the second match, Blutreich finished with 15 kills and Garcia added 11 as Hawaii Hilo beat Western Colorado 25-16, 25-20, 25-18.
Santos had 37 assists for the Vulcans (8-3).
Sierra Long finished with eight kills for the Mountaineers (4-4).

Sofia Cooper had seven kills for the Sharks (1-5).
Avery Veenendall posted 21 assists for the Falcons (5-3).
>> Lillie Hinton had 19 kills and Malena Mihalik added 10 as Chaminade beat Western Oregon 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22 in the Hawaii Challenge at McCabe Gym.
Lilinoe Paschoal posted 41 assists, and Kyra Pagud recorded five aces and 14 digs for the Silverswords (6-4).
Vivian Yount finished with 12 kills, and Katelyn Markley and Payton Davis each added 10 for the Wolves (4-4).
