Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is set to return to practice Wednesday as he continues recovering from a glute injury.
Head coach Mike Macdonald previously said Darnold would practice in some capacity, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the quarterback is expected to ramp up his workload as the week progresses.

Darnold suffered the injury just five snaps into Seattle’s season opener and missed the Seahawks’ 31-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. Seattle did not place him on injured reserve, leaving open the possibility of a quick return.
Drew Lock has guided Seattle to two straight wins while throwing for 422 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. However, Macdonald has indicated Darnold will return to the starting role once healthy.
