MSU football offers 4-star RB prospect from Ohio

Michigan State football is the latest major conference team to extend an offer to a high-level running back prospect from Ohio.

Cartae Ligon of Chillicothe, Ohio announced on Thursday that he's received an offer from the Spartans. Ligon made the offer from Michigan State known by posting on his social media X account.

Ligon is listed as a four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 93.73 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 6 player from Ohio and No. 159 overall prospect in the 2028 class, according to 247Sports' composite.

Michigan State is now one of more than 30 teams to offer Ligon, according to 247Sports. Other notable schools to offer him includes Auburn, Cincinnati, Iowa, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Miami (FL), Minnesota, Missouri, NC State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Northwestern.
