The Bison (1-4 overall, 1-2 Eastern AA) outscored Billings Skyview 21-7 over the final two frames on Friday, Sept. 25, at Sam McDonald Stadium at Daylis, earning the 28-14 conference victory.
Great Falls High rushed for 329 yards on 51 carries (6.4 average) to take down the Falcons (1-4, 1-2), led by running back Rivers Herring’s 179 yards and four touchdowns.
Herring averaged over six yards per carry as he scored the game’s first points on a four-yard carry early in the second quarter, followed by a pair of touchdown runs from three yards out in the third.
Herring added another goal-line score from the 1 in the fourth, while fellow running back Mason Cannon added 149 yards on the ground on 16 totes.
The Bison outgained Skyview 364 to 182 in total offense while running nearly double the plays, with Herring adding an interception on defense.
Great Falls High is back home at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, for Homecoming against Bozeman Gallatin at Memorial Stadium.
